Our Paralegals

David Rubin – davidrubin@danddassociates.ca

David Rubin has been acting for Ontario Landlords in since 1980. Mr. Rubin is currently a director and partner of D&D Associates Paralegal Professional Corporation. Mr. Rubin has represented his clients in the Ontario Courts, the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal, the Landlord and Tenant Board and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.

Mr. Rubin obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University and began working for himself as a landlord representative shortly after receiving this degree.

Mr. Rubin was in the first group of paralegals to become licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada in March 2008.

Mr. Rubin as an experienced advocator represents Ontario Landlords before the Landlord and Tenant Board on a near daily basis.

Mr. Rubin is a Commissioner for taking oaths in the Province of Ontario for work done within the permitted scope of practice of a licensed paralegal.

David (Berel) Ciobotaru – davidciobotaru@danddassociates.ca

David (Berel) Ciobotaru has been acting for Ontario Landlords since 1984. Mr. Ciobotaru is also a director and partner of D&D Associates Paralegal Professional Corporation. Mr. Ciobotaru ran the business operations of the firm and its predecessors prior to working as a paralegal and developing his advocacy skills to represent clients before the Ontario Courts, the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal and now the Landlord and Tenant Board.

Mr. Ciobotaru was in the first group of paralegals to become licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada in March 2008.

Mr. Ciobotaru as an experienced advocator represents Ontario Landlords before the Landlord and Tenant Board on a near daily basis.

Mr. Ciobotaru is a Commissioner for taking oaths in the Province of Ontario for work done within the permitted scope of practice of a licensed paralegal.

Mr. Ciobotaru is a member of the Licensed Paralegal Association (Ontario) and the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.

Bryan Rubin – bryanrubin@danddassociates.ca

Bryan Rubin received his Bachelor of Arts from York University in 2008 and subsequently received the Court and Tribunal Agent Diploma from Seneca College in 2010. Mr. Rubin received his license from the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Paralegal in March 2011.

Mr. Rubin began working for D&D Associates Paralegal Professional Corporation as a student in August 2010. Mr. Rubin regularly represents our clients’ legal interests throughout Ontario.

Mr. Rubin routinely appears before the Landlord and Tenant Board, Small Claims Court and Ontario Court of Justice.

Salvatore (Sam) Ursino – samursino@danddassociates.ca

Salvatore (Sam) Ursino completed the accelerated Court and Tribunal Agent Program at Seneca College with high honors, after receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University.

Mr. Ursino was in the first group of Paralegals Licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada in March 2008.

Mr. Ursino has been specializing in Small Claims Court and Landlord and Tenant matters for over 13 years, by representing Plaintiff’s and Defendants in all types of matters including: Civil Litigation, Debt Collection and Enforcement of Judgments, within the Monetary Jurisdiction of the Ontario Small Claims Court and Landlord and Tenant Board, which currently stands at $25,000.00.

Mr. Ursino also appears before the Ontario Provincial Offences Court along with various administrative Boards such as the Ontario Labour Relations Board.

Having joined D & D Associates Paralegal Professional Corporation as Manager of the Civil Litigation department in February 2010, Mr. Ursino has continued to provide professional, efficient and cost effective legal services, enforcing the values and commitment that have been the foundation of D & D Associates Paralegal Professional Corporation for over 30 years.

Mr. Ursino is a commissioner for taking oaths in the Province of Ontario for work done within the permitted scope of practice of a licensed paralegal.

 

Tamara White – tamarawhite@danddassociates.ca

Tamara White received her Bachelor of Applied Arts in Paralegal Studies with Honours from Humber College in April 2010. Ms. Schmied received her license from the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Paralegal in September 2010.

Ms. White began with D&D Associates Paralegal Professional Corporation as a summer student in April 2009 and currently works full-time as an Associate Paralegal. Ms. Schmied regularly represents our clients’ interests before both the Landlord and Tenant Boards and the Small Claims Courts throughout Ontario.

Ms. White specializes in Small Claims Court matters and is an integral part of D&D Associates Civil Litigation department. Ms. Schmied provides legal services to our clients by collecting outstanding debts through Claims, Garnishments and Writs of Seizure and Sale.

 

Merle Stein – merlestein@danddassociates.ca

Merle Stein has been with D&D Associates Paralegal Professional Corporation and its predecessors, Leaseworks and D&D Associates Ltd. for over 20 years. Ms. Stein currently holds the position of Manager of the Landlord and Tenant department.

Ms. Stein was in the first group of Paralegals Licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada in March 2008.

Ms. Stein specializes in Landlord and Tenant matters and is an integral part of D&D Associates Paralegal Professional Corporation’s administration, providing legal services to our clients by attending/overseeing all administrative duties which include but are not limited to; drafting of notices and applications as well as preparation of files for hearings.

Ms. Stein is a commissioner for taking oaths in the Province of Ontario for work done within the permitted scope of practice of a licensed paralegal.

 

Jacqueline Mancini – jacquelinemancini@danddassociates.ca

Jacqueline Mancini received her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Sociology from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2013. Ms. Mancini furthered her studies at Seneca College and graduated with High Honours from the Accelerated Paralegal Program receiving her Diploma in 2014.  Ms. Mancini was licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada in March 2015.

Ms. Mancini started at D and D Associates as a field placement student in October 2014, and now works full-time as an Associate Paralegal. Ms. Mancini practices in Landlord and Tenant Board matters including but not limited to: providing legal advice to clients, drafting legal notices, preparing and filing applications with the Landlord and Tenant Board, and attending hearings throughout Ontario.

Ms. Mancini is a Commissioner for taking oaths in the Province of Ontario for work done within the permitted scope of practice of a licensed paralegal.
